Iglesia de San Gil y Santa Ana
The Iglesia de San Gil y Santa Ana in Granada was built in 1501 in place of the mosque of Almanzora. In this church Mariana de Pineda, a nineteenth-century heroine executed for embroidering a liberal flag, was married. Is it a unique church in the sense that it combines Christian and Islamic aspects. Its bell tower was originally the minaret of a former mosque on that site. The Iglesia de San Gil y Santa Ana is located at Plaza de Santa de Ana, near the Darro River.
