Fray Leopoldo / Jardines del Triunfo
The Jardines del Triunfo, or Triumph Gardens, were opened in the 13th century as a cemetery, defended by a wall and by gates with towers. Now these gardens offer a wide, landscaped terrace with the landmark Royal Hospital in the background. Granada's Church of the Capuchins, where you'll find the crypt of Brother Leopold, is a four-minute walk away. Beatified in 2010, Brother Leopold spent most of his life in Granada working for the city's poor. In recent years his crypt has become the city's second most visited landmark after the Alhambra.
