The Basílica de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias was built in the late XVII Century, it houses the image of the patron of the city, Nuestra Señora de las Angustias. This is a beautiful seated sculpture of Our Lady holding Christ in Her arms. It was originally a standing statue of the Virgen de la Soledad. The main altarpiece dating from 1728 is outstanding. Its facade is flanked by two tall towers with pinnacles covered with tiles.
