LA CASA DEL CHAPIZ

At the beginning of the Camino del Sacromonte there are two manor houses forming a complex, called Casa del Chapiz.

These two Moorish houses have their origin in the S XIV and combine elements of Arabic art with Christian. They were owned by two converts to Christianity, called Lorenzo. El Chapiz and Hernán López, el Feri, although they currently belong to the Superior Council of Scientific Research.

As in so many houses of Arab architecture, the garden is an essential part. A garden or rather an orchard with beautiful patios where to stay to contemplate the views of the Alhambra and the Albayzín.

The Casa del Chapiz is almost an obligatory stop to rest and contemplate the beauty of Granada also from an interior perspective.
